Replaced lightbulbs in Wittman pendant ; waiting for e-stop & encoder.

Took empty oil tank to bone yard – needs to be returned to supplier.

Brought empty waste oil drums on spill pllet back inside.

Mp-10 connector assembly welder quit working ; had to realign & tighten booster & horn assembly.

Transformers for Stars

Installed the robot trans. in #20 and checked voltage at receptacle. O.k. all it needs at this point is tieing in the machine interlocks with relays. Which I will cover with Josh soon.

Installed the robot transformer in #24 but did not attach primary power because Marty did not want the press to go down at all (too hot) same with #6.

Installed dummy plugs on #22 robot and #20 robot. Still need to do #6.

I was not sure about the pendant for #22 robot, it was left apart and I am guessing we are waiting on the E-stop switch?

Be back on it again this evening.

11.4.2009

Pulled screw out of MP5 this morning.  Screw has chunks of metal missing.

Sent MP5’s CPU and FHD boards to R and R Electronics for evaluation.

Ordered replacement lamps for Wittmann robot pendant for tomorrow.  Josh says we should receive other spares for Wittmann tomorrow as well.

Looked at swapping Y encoder with X.  Y cable too short to swap with any other axis.

Ordered additional heater connectors, boxes, and cables for incoming molds.

The push to disconnect fittings for the Star Robot cylinders are here and can be installed.

I worked on installing a shelf under the new multi-fan housing tester to store addition weld nest for MP12.

C shift

  I worked on PM’s today MP-6,11, & 19.

I took the full waste oil drums on the spill pallet to the oil storage shed – will email Walter M. so he can have it picked up.

I started vacuuming out the pan on press #1. The tank is low.

End of arm tooling cart.

Found an example of a good idea put to use. Why not keep components centralized?

MP#13- robot and press settings.

Had an issue where the pendant had probably been dropped and wires had pulled loose inside. After correcting the problem, many settings had been changed.

Including part drop detect on the press and robot were both turned on. The machine would cycle only once and stop because of this.

For future reference MD4 should be "on" for the robot not to look for part and "drop should be set to zero (off) on the press, NOT to look for part.

Press#3 Oil Leak

Pump started leaking, lost about 30 gallons of oil. There were 4 screws loose. Tightened it up, checked operation, O.k. to run.

Sprue Pickers

Printed off the manuals for the yushin pickers, I am finding a few problems as I go through them but picking out the best.

Collin and I put one on press#17 and Press#14 Friday night.

Press# 16 is next for a 550. Then I was going to put 900's on 18,19, and 20.

Ronnie said that press22 was going to move soon so we will hold off until then. (With a 750).

Building adapter plates as we go for now since each machine must be uniquely fit and are drilled different.

The interface schematics are on the table in the shop next to the good 120vac interface box.

Josh is supposed to be getting more in soon.

New Equipment Update

As you may already know, we bought some new equipment yesterday.  If you include the shipment of used sprue pickers, dryers, and blenders we got this week,  here is where we stand-  We have 7 sprue pickers, 3 mold machines, 5 robots (maybe 6), 3 dryers, 4 dryer/hopper/loader combos, 7 conveyor belts, and 2 blenders to get installed and running.  PLUS- keeping the floor running, Eagle and Pilot launches. The next few weeks and months should be pretty crazy around here.

This stuff won’t ship until the week of the 14th.  Until then we need to be finishing Eagle and Pilot projects and working on new robot installations.  Once the new equipment gets here, priority shifts to getting the three new machines running with robots and support equipment.  Then we will focus on the remaining robot and aux. equipment installations.

OF THE SPRUE PICKERS WE GOT THIS WEEK-  Most of them are located in the storage trailer next to the pallet room.  I have 5 more pendants coming next week.  We need to pick out the best of the following sizes-  (3) 550 models, (2) 750 models, and (2) 900 models.  They will go on MP’s 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 22.  Get them in the shop and de-bugged and then see what needs to be done to mount them on the machines.  We should probably save a couple of the remaining pickers for future use and rob spare parts off the others.  I will work on the machine interfaces.  We are going to need all the spare room we can for new stuff coming in.

Contact me with any questions.  Just dig in and I will keep all of you updated.

Thanks for all your efforts.

Water System

We cleaned the filter screens on all the presses tonight. They were very bad, I think this has been affecting thermolator performance.
Sean

Mezzanine room electrical.

What I thought was a bad breaker the other day turned out to be a burnt wire nut.

Tonight there was a repeat incident on the junction bux just up from it for dryers 8 and 9.

Might want to watch for that in the future.

MP4 Robot Stopping

What is causing MP4 to stop with the robot above the mold and the machine displaying “Eject Forward Permission Not Made” alarm is this-

When the clamp opens fast, the ejectors are drifting past the eject retract set point (Menu 41, Input 121).  The robot will not go into the mold without this input.  We will repair the drifting problem asap, but in the meanwhile, make sure your retract set point is back far enough to compensate for this.

Thanks

DR-7 Breaker out in Mezz room.

The Breaker needs replaced in Panel DH1, could not locate a 20 Amp. I will check with Mark or Gary to see if they know where one is.

Sean

D-shift core problems on #10.

Had some problems with the core set switch not reading correctly.

The symptom was that the set switch would not make at first try in manual, but, when you set it the second time it would make.

I went through checking for loose connections, replaced the switch, and the relay module (110vac), but no change.

We found that pressure was only 500psi.

Although no adjustments had been done on press#10, we adjusted V225 pressure relief valve to 1550 and had no further problems.

This is interesting because the press was running when the fault occurred.

Phone post test

"C" Shift

Well, they jammed another grinder with santoprene . I spent 2 hours disassembling the grinder. It’s going to take awhile to clean this one out.

I spent most of the rest of the day trying to finish up PMs.
